The Review

One of the first things that stood out to me was how much the book honed in on the ways in which women are impacted by the financial world and how women are treated in the world of finances as a whole. Like so many areas of life, finances have been deemed “male-dominated” by so many people over the years. Far too often women are overlooked or put aside by men when it comes to how households handle their financial situations. The relatability of the author’s writing and the realistic tone the experiences the author deals with take will strike a chord with many readers, especially women.

The other thing that really stood out to me was the author’s approach to finances overall. Rather than writing in a way that sounds like a financial advisor, the author approaches this from an educational point of view, blending personal experiences with the lessons learned from those experiences. The emphasis is put on everything from being open to learning about the way money works and the importance of investments to increase one’s wealth, to focus on what you can control financially and the impact taking control of one’s finances can have on other areas of life made this book stand out in a unique way.

The Verdict

Memorable, educational, and thought-provoking, author Kalee Boisvert’s “Making Money Your Thing” is a must-read nonfiction book on finances and empowerment. The connect ability of the author’s message to readers and the emphasis the author puts on empowerment through financial security and understanding will make readers eager to learn more and go back to the book repeatedly. The Review

This was such a passionate and well-researched book. The self-help and motivational guide do an incredible job of cutting to the core of the individual reading through the author’s own experiences and life lessons that can speak to a multitude of people. The fast-paced and thoughtful style of writing allowed the author to really showcase to readers a more grounded approach to success.

One of the first and most impactful things that stood out to me was the author’s focus on an individual’s passion and interests as a driving force for their success in life. Far too often people will encourage others to seek answers outside of their interests, and the passions that fuel them are often extinguished after years of hard work in other industries. The way author allows readers to take a different approach to everyday ways of thinking, from the age-old question of “who are you” becoming “who are you (to others)”, to laying out the detailed 8 steps that the author has found for success, made for both an educational and inspiring read.

The Verdict

Captivating, thought-provoking, and engaging, author Scott Schwefel’s “Discover Yourself: Understand Who You Are, What You Do Well, and What You Are Passionate About” is a must-read nonfiction motivational and a self-help guide for both business-oriented and everyday readers alike. The heart and passion that the author writes with shine through and adds a depth of interaction between the author and reader as the educational aspect of the book comes to life. Guest Post: What You Love Will Get You Through by Kate Brenton

I have always been a doer and banked on working my way through anything, but how effective that is change throughout life. My first hint was at 41 years old and a few weeks away from delivering my first and only child, when my midwife was packing up her bag from our visit, she looked over her shoulder to say, “You know it’s good for moms to have things to do that are just theirs.”

I nodded.

“You, know,” she mindfully continued, “some Moms have to work, and some moms choose to work and it’s not so much the money at times, but what you get back for doing something that you really love to do, or just like to do, but it is something for you.”

“Uh-huh,” I smile. I am so naive in this moment I can only esoterically nod at what she was saying; I cannot really understand the lifeline she has thrown me before she walks out the door that day, but I bet she did.

My son came into this world fully loaded with fire and change; his arrival opened a new era, and all change brings some dissolution. We can be surprised in the form, but as we journey forward in years we can start to sense those waves of change coming.

“You should start a podcast,” my sweet and reliable friend Joe told me one day out of the blue.

“What? I have a baby. I have no time,” I retorted.

“It’s not that hard and I think you would really enjoy it. Our podcast together has the highest ratings,” he continued. “And I could share my equipment with you..”

“What do you mean highest ratings?” I listened as Joe talked about the numbers on our one off show, and the details of microphones, and the help he was going to give me to get going. Our decades-old friendship had this swinging cadence of uplifting each other, so I was able to entertain this perplexing thought of me starting a podcast with only internal scrutiny because I knew his intentions were pure.

I hemmed and hawed over it. Crafted an intention and an arc, reached out to inspirational people I knew and the Rebirth podcast was born. You know what? I loved it. I loved talking. I loved the microphone. I loved sharing people’s stories. It brought me so much joy. Even when I had to record episodes in my car because the baby was sleeping, and there was no reception in the basement to record. Even when someone asked me how many listeners I had, and I didn’t know 50 downloads an episode was low, because 50 people was a great number for a local talk, which was how I looked at it. The podcast became a respite of creativity in a sea of self-less motherhood.

Life wasn’t in the easiest flow otherwise, and someone said to me, “You spend a lot of time on that podcast and it doesn’t make any money.”

I was sitting at a table eating, legs crossed, fork in hand; I blinked. I felt a small dip in my stomach, when a voice inside—who I hadn’t heard for awhile—quietly cautioned me that this was not the thing to let go of. Her quietness gave me pause, even as my mind agreed that the podcast was not producing monetarily. I kept a solid face. I gave a non-verbal acknowledgment of the statement and decided to stay the course, with or without support.

About six months later, and I tell this story in the book, an acquaintance calls and tells me she is starting a publishing company and she wants to sign me as an author. I say yes, and again tell no one. If I had no time for a podcast, I certainly didn’t have the resources to write a book, but a someday-author doesn’t say no when the call comes.

A good six months after the call from my now publisher, I have moved out of the house where I held my fork and my tongue, and I am sitting at a new coffee-table, a single parent with a book contract, immense writer’s block and deafening pressure. I keep going though, unseen and well loved hands, helping along the way. I invite my publisher on to my podcast to share her story of leaps and faith.

She calls me the next day, “Kate, the podcast is the book.”

“What?” I echo.

“You are so good at asking the questions and distilling the essence. I was thinking about it last night and I woke up this morning and realized, the podcast is the book.”

I felt a full body rush of agreement.

The podcast began on a borrowed microphone in 2018, and the book hit #1 in New Thought on its release day (purposely set on Fall Equinox, a day of balance and harvest) in 2022. The book started as a postpartum project in agreement that sometimes it is good for a person to have and create what they love, to not get lost in the waves of sacrifice. The fire of change and dissolution that came through in my son’s birth, also created fertile soil for the lifelong-someday dream of being a published writer. If I had planned it, I would not have lived the process of growth to become it.

Do not let go of that which brings you joy, for in the moment when you think there is no way possible, the innate roadmap of your rebirth has already begun making its way to you.

The Review

This was a brilliant and informational read. The detailed way author dives into the hiring process and what it takes to be a firefighter. The balance of information and almost textbook style of writing allowed the reader to feel like they were able to dive head-first into a how-to guide that would allow for better odds of being hired.

What stood out to me was not just the educational aspect of the book, but how the book spoke to people who aren’t firefighters. Getting a glimpse behind the curtain at how firefighters work and what the profession entails was so fascinating to get into, and the added bonus of understanding the culture and how it impacts the profession as the author hails from Australia allowed for a more profound reading experience.

The Verdict

Educational, engaging, and thought-provoking, author Brent Clayton’s “How to Become a Firefighter Without Wasting Years” is a must-read book. The harmonious way the author blends the technical aspect of the book with the more emotional and mental aspects of pursuing a job in this field was great to see, and the sheer volume of information the author included will allow readers to gain insight and knowledge that will catapult them to the front of anyone’s hiring process. About the Author

Brent Clayton is Australia’s leading authority when it comes to asking the question How to Become a Firefighter in Australia.

After becoming a firefighter, I developed a massive interest in the Fire Services Recruitment and Selection Processes. Since 2007, I have been working on thoroughly learning how Fire Services Recruitment works, testing ways to help people get the edge over the competition and helping many people do exactly that for services in every state of Australia. The result of all this hard work is my Elite Firefighter Accelerator Coaching Program as well as some best-selling Books and Courses.

I’ve made it my mission to help people who are in the same position I was in, so you don’t have to waste years of your life finding out the hard way. If you are serious about becoming a firefighter it’s my mission to help you

Before becoming a firefighter I was a Prison Guard for a number of years, and in the military prior to that. All these jobs require a developed knowledge of recruitment and selection processes which I have mastered over the years — being a successful applicant myself in areas where many fail.

Along the way I’ve also had the great fortune of meeting and making friends with many recruitment and selection process professionals who have added to my knowledge. They have been especially useful in learning to mentor individuals and write specific guides to help people reach their goals in these areas.

I started out by selling the Firefighter Recruitment Bundle and offering coaching sessions to aspiring firefighters. Today I have a full-fledged membership site that offers every form of Fire Service recruitment training you can imagine. My focus is to make sure we have the most up to date tools for you to win.

You’ll be very happy as this quiet confidence starts to build inside you once you start to realise, ‘I get this.’

During my time in the Fire Service, I’ve worked within the recruitment process as a recruit instructor, and worked my way through the ranks on station. It is my passion to find the edge for people, particularly those who have failed before or

those who want to avoid wasting time and put their best foot forward. If you’re one of those people, check out what services I have to offer that can help you reach your goal.

When Grace Found Me: Real Life Stories of Women of Faith Volume 1 by Kim Lengling Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

Author Kim Lengling helps readers seek inspiration from powerful stories of women of faith in the book “When Grace Found Me Volume 1”.

The Synopsis

With the turn of each page, you will find words of encouragement, hope and God’s grace living within the twenty women who share their personal testimonies within this book. Through faith, perseverance, overcoming fear, anxiety and loss, the women who have shared their stories realize that God has been with them every step of the way. When Grace Found Me is a book for anyone who may be seeking a reminder of God’s unending love for us.

The Review

This was an inspiring and heartfelt read. The author really dug deep into a wellspring of emotions and personal experiences to touch upon the stories of these powerful women who became resilient enough to trust in themselves and their beliefs to overcome great odds. The honesty and conviction with which the author wrote and brought these stories to life was moving to say the least and did a great job of utilizing imagery and tone to elevate each story to the platform they deserved.

While I myself am not a particularly religious person, any time a person can overcome something in their lives, be it a tragedy, grief, or any sort of hardship, the means by which they do it matter little to me, but instead the journey and process they took to get to that place is what truly matters. I found these stories to be quite moving, and readers of faith will, in particular, connect to the authors writing as this short yet powerful read paints a vivid image of what happens when a person puts their strength and faith into an idea or belief system.

The Verdict

Motivating, engaging, and thoughtful, author Kim Lengling’s “When Grace Found Me Volume 1” is a must-read nonfiction inspiration collection of stories. The heart and passion of the author’s writing when coupled with the moving stories of these strong women overcoming lifelong and daily life experiences created a truly strong and emotional reading experience readers won’t be able to put down. The Review

The author did such a fantastic job of crafting a well-developed outline of the steps would-be leaders and readers can take to become the executive leaders they were meant to be. Through simple yet effective steps, the author showed readers how to elevate the skills and untapped potential already within themselves to become the leaders their work needs them to be.

The outline and steps the author mapped out in this book were both effective and thought-provoking. One section that stood out to me was the ability of an executive leader to have a good Emotional Intelligence or EQ. Studying and allowing oneself to understand their own ability to control their emotions, as well as the ability to recognize, empathize, and identify with the emotions of those working with or under you. As someone who has recognized the effects of emotional intelligence playing out in front of me, it was refreshing to see a business and inspirational-led book take a look into this side of things.

The Verdict

Thoughtful, educational, and engaging, author Robert Moment’s “Executive Coaching: The Ultimate Success Blueprint You Need as a New Executive to Get The Best Business Results” is a must-read nonfiction book of 2022, and the perfect read for executive leaders or those who want to move into higher positions within their fields. Building A Coaching Culture: How Managers As Coaches Can Include And Develop New Employees Successfully by Andreas van der Heydt Review

I received a free copy of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review. All opinions are my own.

In author Andreas van der Heydt’s “Building A Coaching Culture: How Managers As Coaches Can Include And Develop New Employees Successfully”, the author explores how internal coaching can not only improve but cultivate a stronger working environment and enrich new employees.

The Synopsis

The speed and complexity of change in business practice has never been greater than today. Navigating this “new and lasting norm” requires for any organization, besides other factors, two principal elements: Managers and leaders who are capable of coaching their team members as well as a new type of workforce that can quickly adapt to changing environments, can acquire new skills necessary to be successful in the future, and is willing and capable of stepping up to take over responsibility. The book argues that internal coaching is an excellent tool to onboard, integrate, and develop (new) employees. Successful coaching will result in higher job satisfaction (for both coach and coachee), better work and business results, and superior retention levels: A long-term win for both the organization, its employees, and customers.

Based on extensive interviews with both tenured leaders and new employees, focus groups with learning & development experts, and a comprehensive literature research as well as the author ́s own in-depth coaching knowledge and expertise, this book proposes an academically researched, developed, and validated model of eight dimensions of successful coaching as well as a five-step implementation plan which can be used as an impactful framework to embed coaching skills in organizational settings to create a sustainable and growth-generating coaching culture.

The Review

This was a truly engaging and meticulously researched read. The author does an excellent job of writing in a way that delivers the information in a clear and concise way and writes in a way that readers can engage and understand the material being taught by the author and relayed through research and study.

The research and development that went into this book are evident throughout this whole book, especially when engaging with the five-step plan that the author introduces to creating this coaching culture. This is the perfect read for those looking to improve their business in the wake of the pandemic and hoping to grow an environment that encourages new employees to grow and be taught rather than ordered around, highlighting the key differences between a boss and a coach.

The Verdict

A memorable, thought-provoking, and educational read, author Andreas van der Heydt’s “Building A Coaching Culture: How Managers As Coaches Can Include And Develop New Employees Successfully” is a must-read business and nonfiction read. The research and case studies the author presented were not just sound enlightening as well and pushed businesses and managers to develop in-house coaching programs that will empower and enrich both the business and employees as well. The Review

This was such a captivating and engaging read. The author did an amazing job of striking that wonderful balance that is needed in nonfiction reads between well-researched information and facts given to the reader and the more personal, well-experienced moments in the author’s own life to validate their findings.

The way the author is able to utilize the power of connection not only for people’s careers, but for their personal lives as well felt like the book became a lot more inclusive and well-rounded, and showed how these two aspects of a person’s life often cross over with one another. The book flowed smoothly and showed a depth of research and ironically, a personal connection that the author held with the reader as they learned of the author’s own experiences and witty style of writing.

The Verdict

A memorable, educational, and thoughtful read, author Jen Nash’s “The Big Power of Tiny Connections” is a must-read nonfiction book! The inspiration and expertise for which the author writes are so engaging, and as someone who personally struggles with social anxiety yet craves personal connection, I found the author’s words to be moving and gave me a means of learning and growing in my social skills. The Review

Unlike so many self-help or how-to books that have come before it, this book actually does a great job of providing actionable information that new or established entrepreneurs alike can implement into their work. From finding one’s true self by identifying your natural abilities to finding the things you are passionate about and finding a way to balance the two, this book is filled with easy to understand and well-written guides for those seeking to truly understand the success of an entrepreneur.

While a short read, the author has done a masterful job of highlighting a lot of key information and knowledge that so many people venturing into the world of entrepreneurship often fail to understand. In a world where the necessity of entrepreneurship is crucial, this is the perfect way to engage with readers and help them to understand the tools they will need going forward. \

Chapter 4 in particular is great for those like myself who believe in mental health and gaining a firmer understanding of one’s own mental health and willpower, as it helps readers find a means of mastering what the author calls your “inner game”. Through a belief in ourselves and learning to conquer our fears and overcome the limiting beliefs that tell us that something is impossible, we can begin to chart our own path with a newfound confidence and strength that was always there, waiting to be released.

The Verdict

A strong, quick yet informative read, author Robert Moment’s “Mentally Strong Entrepreneur: Build Your Mind Strength and Get Entrepreneur Tips for Startup Success” is a must-read book. The perfect read for those seeking to delve into the world of entrepreneurship and seeking to find the right mentality and focus to make your pursuits a success, the book perfectly achieves a balance of a how-to guide with the mental and emotional tools of a great self-help book, making this one of the more unique business-driven reads I’ve had on my site. Be sure to check it out for yourselves today, as this is the perfect nonfiction read to begin 2021!

About the Author

My Story

For as long as I can remember I’ve had a real passion for personal growth, development and renewal. It’s a journey that’s allowed me to enjoy some amazing experiences, meet many inspirational people, and visit places I never thought possible. But more than that I want to use my own experiences to offer you the chance to live in exactly the same free and open way.

My Goal

As a Spiritual Life Coach I believe that anyone, from any walk of life, can go out there and change the world in their own unique way. It may not always be easy, but it does only become possible when you invest in your inner self and believe that it’s possible. The only problem is knowing how to make it happen so that freedom and spiritual awakening manifest themselves in your life.

My Approach

I specialize in offering Spiritual Life Coaching that’s designed to set you free in a whole host of ways that you could have never imagined. It doesn’t matter whether you’ve been connected with your spiritual side your entire life, are a complete skeptic, or you’re anywhere else in between, I want to connect with you and show you what can become possible.

Your Future

Living a spiritual life means different things to different people, and some see that as a problem. I’m different in that I see it as a solution to every potential problem out there as it allows you to define your life in your own terms as you find your voice amongst the noise.

Together we can connect, get to know the real you, and reconnect your authentic self with the inner you. Through my combination of coaching and writing I love nothing more than showing people just like you what becomes possible when you open your eyes to the spiritual side of life.
