Nintendo News Roundup March 4th, 2014

Hey guys, long time no see. It’s been a while since we had Nintendo news to report, but we have a few headlines we’d like to share with you on behalf of our friends over at Nintendo. Here we go with the Nintendo News Roundup.

1) During the month of March, Nintendo will have a deal going down that allows people to register their Nintendo 3DS, Nintendo 3DS XL or Nintendo 2DS system, as well as one of six select Nintendo 3DS games through Club Nintendo, and in return those people will receive a free code to download either Pokemon X or Pokemon Y, the two bestselling Nintendo 3DS games of 2013. The six select games include Mario Kart 7, Super Mario 3D Land, Animal Crossing: New Leaf, Donkey Kong Country Returns 3D, LEGO City Undercover: The Chase Begins, and the upcoming smash game Yoshi’s New Island. The free codes given out will have to be used by May 31st, 2014, and the registration will be between March 1st and March 31st 2014.

2) On March 14th, Nintendo will be launching a special edition Yoshi Nintendo 3DS XL system, the same day that the new game Yoshi’s New Island is released. The system will be green, and will feature an image of Yoshi on the front, and a series of adorable Yoshi eggs on the back. The system will launch at a retail price of $199.99. Yoshi’s New Island is the latest installment in the ever sprawling Yoshi’s Island series, and will be the first on the Nintendo 3DS systems. The side-scroller will follow Yoshi as he takes Baby Mario on an adventure to find his abducted brother. Yoshi will be able to throw any eggs he lays in the game, including the massive Mega Eggddozers. The game will be sold at a retail price of $39.99.
