Nintendo News Round-Up with On Request Magazine’s Anthony Avina

Well it’s been a while since we had any Nintendo updates, but a couple of news bits floated our way this week, and we wanted to share them with you.

1. Selected Wii U Video Challenge Team and YouTube Celebrity Freddie Wong to Premiere Short Film in Park City: The team from the internet show Hey Ash, Watcha Playin’? will debut a new short film in Park City, Utah during the Sundance Film Festival on January 16th, 2014. They were selected after participating in the Wii U Video Challenge, and was selected to work with YouTube sensation Freddie Wong to produce an original short film that was inspired by the game Donkey Kong Country: Freeze, which will launch for Wii U on February 21st, 2014.The contest asked for 30 of YouTube’s biggest content providers to produce short videos inspired by games from Nintendo’s large collection, including Super Mario 3D and The Legend of Zelda: Wind Walker HD. The Nintendo Chalet will also give attendees a chance to escape the cold weather and play a variety of Wii U and 3DS games.

2. Wii Fit U for Wii U: With the start of a new year, many are looking to fulfill their new years resolutions and loose some weight. Nothing would help that out more than Nintendo’s Wii Fit U for Wii U users. Utilizing a fitness Wii U board and the console, players can move easily and freely to accomplish their tasks and goals in the game, gaining them a much more enduring work out. A bundle that includes the game, balance board, and the Fit Meter accessory will be out soon at a price of $89.99, or without the balance board for $49.99.
