There were many great cinematic games that were released this year. From concluding stories such as Assassins Creed 3 and Mass Effect 3 to new chapters in a continuing series such as Halo 4 and Call of Duty: Black Ops II, and hit arcade games such as The Walking Dead, this year held some of the biggest blockbuster titles thus far. However, only one can hold the honor of Game of the Year, and that game is none other than Assassins Creed 3.
Creating a new historical period to explore and managing to conclude the story of modern day assassin Desmond was no small feat, and yet Ubisoft knocked it out of the park, creating a unique new gaming system, breathtaking visuals, and an amazing story that concludes Desmond’s story and allows room to grow for future installments at the same time. Also the introduction of the American Revolution and the assassin who lived it, Conner a half-British, half-Native American young man who must fight the men responsible for threatening his tribe and inadvertently lending a hand in the revolution, was simply put, brilliant. These dynamics helped to create the Award winning Game of the Year, Assassins Creed 3.
